S'iomaí coiscéim fada idir mise 'gus mo ghrá,
Fuair mé síos an bealach agus chaoin mé mo sháith,
Chonaic mé cailín dáthúil agus ise teacht ón bhád,
Och an bhfaca tú mo Phadaí, nó an bhfuil se ar an bhád?

S'iomaí coiscéim fada idir mise 'gus mo ghrá,
Labhair an cailín dathúil liom: Tá Padaí ar an bhád,
'Siomaí cailín deas, monuar, a tífidh sé ar an bhád,
Ó, is mé bhí cúrtha cráite nuair a mhoithigh mé mo sháith.

'Siomaí coiscéim fada idir mise 'gus mo ghrá,
Tháinig mé 'na bhaile nó ní rabh sé ar an bhád,
Shuigh mé cois na tine agus chaoin mé mo sháith,
Ó, is mairg gan mé in Albain ná'n Sasain go bráth.

Absolutely love that deep concertina sound. And the range of expression that Cormac brings out through this instrument, well beyond the intentions of the designers or makers of these instruments. And, feel sorry for his poor bellows and reeds. He has to do a lot of personal repair on them. Cormac's album design and presentation are beautiful works of art as well. See him in concert if you can. You can really feel those bass notes resonate through a hall. balinsky
